Up for sale is a Mackie TT24 digital audio mixer. This mixer has served me very well and Im actually quite sad to part with it. But I just dont need 60+ channels for the type of audio work I do these days, so I have downsized to something smaller. But I have absolutely loved this mixer.
Hopefully someone else can love it for a few more years too. Overall the mixer is in great condition considering its age. It hasnt seen a lot of use, especially in the last 10 years when it has basically just been sitting in storage.
Even when it was actively being used it got used for gigs less than once per month in indoor, non-smoking environments. It does have a few little dents and scratches here and there, but again, considering its age it is in remarkably great shape.
It works, with a couple minor issues. Microphone/line input 17 is too noisy to use. I believe it can easily be repaired, though. I think it is an internal connection issue, not damage to the electronics.
When the mixer is really cold it will reboot over and over when first powered on. Once it warms up it runs fine. I dont recommend using it outdoors during a cold winter. It has never failed me, though; once it warms up to room temperature it always works perfectly.I have modified the mixer to include eight channels of analog input and four channels of audio output on CAT-5 jacks on the top, as shown in the pictures. These are wired in parallel with the mic inputs and line outputs. These do not have to be used and they do not negatively impact the functionality of the mixer in any way.
They are, however, very convenient for making connections to wireless mic receiver racks or speakers over cheap CAT-5 cable. Using B style CAT-5 wiring, channels are brown, blue, green, and orange pairs respectively. Shielded cable can be used when a ground is required (usually only for phantom power). About 140 pounds in its road case.
24 channels of microphone inputs using high quality mic preamps. Each of these also features a TRS line level input as well. Both the XLR mic and TRS line level inputs can be connected simultaneously, selectable via push button on top of console.
These channels also have insert jacks. 8 additional line level inputs on TRS jacks. 24 channels of digital I/O on three pairs of ADAT lightpipe. Can mix 64 channels from any combination of 24 mic/line inputs, 24 digital channels from ADAT lightpipe, 8 line inputs, 8 remote inputs from digital snake.
Supports 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, and 96kHz sampling rate all at 24-bit resolution. (Running at 88 or 96 kHz reduces the ADAT lightpipe channel count to 12). High pass filter, gate, compressor, and 4-band parametric EQ built in for 24 channels. 12 aux sends, switchable between mono and stereo.Pioneered the sends on faders feature seen on many mixers today. Aux sends also feature EQ, compression, limiter. 8 groups, with optional DCA capability. Using optional U-100 network card and DS3232 digital snake, 64 (32x32) channels of audio can be sent over a single CAT-5 cable, up to 100 meters, even at 96kHz. Uses the easy Two Touch interface which makes all mixing parameters accessible in two touches or less. The touch screen still works perfectly. It is actually the easiest and fastest to navigate digital mixer Ive ever used, hands down. Computer controllable over USB via TT Control software. This software will still run on the 32-bit version of Windows 10 (but not 64-bit). 29 100mm motorized faders, all still work perfectly.
The console uses four banks to select between available input and output channels on the faders. 28 rotary encoders on the channel strips, usable for panning, adjusting gain, aux send level, HPF, or as level meters.Separate or combined Left/Center/Right mixing capability. 4 channels of built-in effects processing. Pairs of channels can be linked for stereo effects. (Reverb isnt greatI recommend outboard processor for reverb). 31-band graphic EQ on stereo outputs. Linkable to additional TT24s via U-100 networking card. (Create FOH and monitor mixes from the same sources without a mult box). All sources are fully routable through TT Control software. And it still works great. The item "Mackie TT24 56+ ch Digital Audio Mixer with Road Case Works Great" is in sale since Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
